Bioneers is committed to making the National Bioneers Conference an experience accessible to participants from diverse backgrounds. With this in mind, we proudly offer a limited number of full and partial Scholarships and Subsidies to qualifying individuals and groups.

 


Subsidy FAQ.

Who is eligible to apply for a Subsidized Registration rate?

Individuals demonstrating engagement, action, employment, or a history of sincere interest in the advancement of social, cultural and environmental justice issues.

What amount of the National Bioneers Conference registration fee is subsidized?
50% of the National Bioneers Conference registration fee is subsidized:

3-Day Pass: reg. $475 | $237.50 subsidized rate

2-Day Pass: reg. $410 | $205 subsidized rate

1-Day Pass: reg. $225 | $112.50 subsidized rate

Can I apply for a subsidy if I’m a previous awardee?
Yes. Preference will be given to first-time applicants.

How long is the open application period?
Subsidized Registrations are accepted through 7-Oct 2013.

What’s the process once I register as a subsidy recipient?
You will self-register online as any other registrant. Your acceptance indicates your agreement to cooperate with Bioneers in providing post-conference feedback, outcomes, testimonial, and other follow-up as requested. Our goal is to know our constituents and how attending BioCon2013 impacts their personal and professional work. 

Can I transfer my subsidy to a friend / colleague if I’m unable to attend?
The subsidy is intended for the named awardee only and is not transferable to another person. Individuals must apply seperately.

What costs does a subsidy cover?
See above subsidized rates. Individual subsidy recipients will be expected to pay a $4.75 processing fee during the registration process.

Who is eligible to apply for a scholarship?

Individuals and Groups demonstrating engagement, action or sincere interest in the advancement of social, cultural and environmental justice issues. Full Scholarships will be awarded to qualifying:

  • Education: Educators and Educational Institution Administrators, Individual or Group – Education professionals engaged in BioCon related curriculum or initiatives
  • General: Community Activists / Organizers, Civic and Cause Leaders representing a non-profit organization engaged in BioCon related issues and with an annual budget of less than $1mil
  • Youth, Individual or Group – Youth or Students engaged in BioCon related curriculum or initiatives

Can I apply for a scholarship if I’m a previous awardee?
Yes. Preference will be given to first-time applicants.

How long is the open application period?
Applications are accepted through 18-Sep 2013 with awards issued on a rolling basis until 30-Sep 2013.

What’s the process once I accept a scholarship?
Scholarship awardees will be notified via email and will have seven (7) days to confirm acceptance and register for attendance. Registration instructions will be provided at the time of award. Unclaimed scholarships will be awarded to other applicants following the initial awardee notification period.

Can I transfer my scholarship to a friend / colleague if I’m unable to attend?
The subsidy is intended for the named awardee only and is not transferable to another person. Individuals must apply separately.

What costs does a scholarship cover and what is the reward process?
Also at the discretion of the Scholarship Awards Review Committee, scholarship awards may cover full or partial attendance to the National Bioneers Conference. Partial or Full Scholarships are issued on basis of merit and need and recipients will be notified of the specific scholarship award. Individual scholarship recipients will be expected to pay a $24.75 processing fee before being issued conference passes.
